How to create a distinctive look

We get asked a lot about how to create a distinctive look.  Our customers like classic styles as well as modern styles, but they also want things that reflect their personal identity.  One thing we recommend frequently is to mix and match clothing textures.  By layering different textures you can create a distinctive look.  

Mixing and matching textures is similar to mixing and matching prints and patterns.  Basic textures such as denim, cotton, leather, and suede can serve as a neutral base and pair well with more attention-grabbing textures.  One thing we love is to consider a texture's typical context.  Textures evoke specific moods.  A plaid flannel shirt can look cozy with corduroy, but it becomes more serious when paired with a black leather jacket.  Get creative.  

Needlepoint belts can have simple or more complicated patterns and mix very well with basic textures such as chinos and denim, and are very "at home" in just about any setting.  They immediately add visual interest to an outfit.  They also reflect your personality and individuality.
